A roof membrane, also known as an underlayment, is what we install on your roof deck before adding the top roofing material. This underlayment acts as a barrier, keeping out moisture and protecting your home during severe weather. Types of Roof Underlayment

There are several types of roofing underlayment available today, some of which include asphalt-saturated felt, rubberized asphalt, and non-bitumen synthetics made of felt paper. However, some of these materials are considered outdated.

We install two different types of home roof underlayment here at Kairos Roofing. These are:

Modified Bitumen

Designed to withstand the elements, this system is our most popular offering. As the name suggests, it’s made with bitumen that has been modified to help increase durability and flexibility.

TPO Roofing

This roofing system, short for thermoplastic polyolefin, features a single-ply membrane that’s resistant to heat, UV rays, and fungi. It’s sturdy, yet flexible, which makes it a top choice for low-slope roofs. This is a commercial-grade material, which offers an extended lifespan.
